Chap Book Design—Fall of 2013

A chap book is defined as a small book containing ballads, poems, tales or tracts. This chapter book is the embodiment of the twists and turns of life and how the smallest things can bring you out of darkness. We as a society have created a tradition of placing living flowers in honor and remembrance on the grave site of loved ones that have passed away. Paired with this fascination I photographed grave sites at two cemeteries that featured flowers that were once alive. Thankfully, I have not lost very many loved ones in my life, but I know that others are not so lucky. With this in mind I asked my friends and family to provide me with quotes, poems, passages, and lyrics that they have used to help them get through losing a loved one. The passages serve as a way to bring you light when you face immense darkness.
